The Youth Enrichment Scheme (YES) will target vulnerable children aged 11-13 who have been identified and referred by partner agencies because of vulnerability linked to:
The scheme is run by DAAC Leaders, Youth Workers, Cadets and volunteers.
Each scheme will include mental health issues, poverty and bereavement as topics for discussion and learning. The enrichment activities will also provide the opportunity to take part in activities such as gorge walking, climbing, ghyll scrambling, etc. The activities are selected because they promote teamwork, communication and leadership skills. The overall objective is to boost self confidence through enjoyable challenging activities while discussing the risk factors that are affecting the lives of the young people.
